Scout Comics Promotes David Byrne And Charlie Stickney To Co-Publishers
by James Ferguson
Scout Comics has been on a roll lately, announcing a slew of new titles for the next year or so. Now the publisher has shared some exciting news about its internal operations as David Byrne and Charlie Stickney have been promoted to Co-Publishers. James Pruett has shifted his focus more to his role as Chief Creative Officer, working closely with CEO Brendan Deneen to further expand Scout’s presence in the bookstore market and in foreign languages.
David Byrne began working with Scout last year as a production designer. He previously worked an editor, writer, and retailer, with a considerable amount of time spent in sales.
Charlie Stickney has emphasized a creator-first approach within his own work like White Ash, The Game, Glarien, and The Adept and will continue that as Co-Publisher, empowering writers and artists to help bring their vision to the marketplace. In addition to comics, he’s worked in animation, film, and television.
Congratulations to David and Charlie! This is some exciting news for the indie comics scene and I can’t wait to see where this publisher is going next.
