Dynamite Adapts ‘The Boys’ Comics Into Novels With New Details

by James Ferguson

In a surprising move, Dynamite has announced official novel adaptations of original storylines from The Boys from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Usually these things go the other way around, with novels getting turned into comics, but it’s 2020 and anything is possible. I also question this move as Robertson’s artwork is a huge component to The Boys, so how is this going to flow without it?

In any case, the first volume, The Boys: Name of the Game, is out now in print and digital from writer Dan Wickline. It digs into this world where costumed heroes soar through the sky and masked vigilantes prowl at night. Someone has to make sure these capes don’t get out of line.
Writer Dan Wickline says:

I remember reading the first issue when it came out and just being floored. It was the type of story the industry needed. Garth and Darick have created such an amazing world over the series run, and I’m getting a chance to introduce that world to another audience that may not normally pick up a comic book, as well as revealing a few details and fleshing out parts that even longtime fans will greatly appreciate.
