It would seem the Book Industry Charitable (Binc) Foundation, keeps on getting more funds to support struggling comic book and book retailers. this time to the sum of over $140,000 courtesy of Image Comics, Skybound and Humble Bundle.
More specifically, here’s how that money will be divided out:
“Over $35K was raised to benefit Traveling Stories, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that seeks to empower kids to outsmart poverty by helping them fall in love with reading by the fourth grade. In a joint Bundle with multiple other publishers, over $4M was raised to benefit Race Forward, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and The Bail Project charities to support the Black community during the Black Lives Matter movement”.
Still up and running is the “Image Comics Showcase” Bundle with proceeds from this one going to the Binc Foundation as well as to The Hero Initiative.
I think it’s always good to know where you cash is going and I’m all for this kind of transparency. So, we’re more than happy to report this on here.
And, it may be worth noting that we are still nowhere near out of the woods, so it’s good to see support is still ongoing. Thanks to everyone who’s been able to give.
