Mad Cave’s ‘Stargazer’ & ‘Dry Foot’ Set For September Release
by James Ferguson
The COVID-19 pandemic put a lot of comics on hold as Diamond halted shipments. Fortunately, most of them are coming back in some shape or form. Mad Cave Studios have announced new release dates for two of their new titles, Stargazer and Dry Foot, both due out in September of this year.
Stargazer is set to debut on September 2nd from writer Anthony Cleveland, artist Antonio Fuso, colorist Stefano Simeone, and letterer Justin Birch. I already got a look at the first issue and it’s pretty special. It plays with the idea of four kids that were abducted by a UFO and implanted with stolen technology capable of destroying an ancient alien race. Twenty years later those same aliens want to take it back.
Writer Anthony Cleveland says:
I truly enjoyed crafting the personal stakes for each character in comparison to the massive cosmic conflict going on above their heads. What comes from that is an emotional story that I can’t wait to see readers respond to.
The following week sees the debut of Dry Foot #1 from writer Jared Lujan, artist Orlando Caicedo, colorist Warnia Sahadewa, and letterer Justin Birch. It follows Diego Gomez, a man tired of the drugs and violence that surround him. He wants to escape out west, leaving the neon lights of 1980s Miami behind him. With help from some friends, Diego begins a plan to rob the most dangerous gang in the city, Los Marielitos.
Writer Jared Lujan says:
Dry Foot was a uniquely emotional experience for me. A lot of me, and my own group of teenage troublemaker friends, made its way into the script. I’m very proud of this book, of the incredible art team that brought it to life, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.
Both Stargazer and Dry Foot are available for pre-order at your local comic shop.
