Origins OGN Now Mini-Series Beginning in November

by James Ferguson

After successfully moving Wynd from an original graphic novel to a mini-series, BOOM! Studios is getting ready to do it again with Origins. The upcoming OGN from creators Arash Amel, Joseph Oxford, and Lee Toland, writer Clay McLeod Chapman, artist Jakub Rebelka, colorist Patricio Delpeche, letterer Jim Campbell, and producer Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, will now debut with a first issue in November. The graphic novel was originally slated for release in October and it’s still listed for pre-order on Amazon so I’m not sure what the deal is there.

Origins is set one thousand years after humans have gone extinct. Artificial intelligence has taken over the world. When the creator of the technology responsible for the destruction of humanity is brought back to life, he’s given a second chance in order to save mankind and undo his biggest mistake. With the help of his first creation and the android that revived him, he must reignite the spark of mankind or stop the AI overlords who plan to eliminate them once and for all.
Dafna Pleban, Senior Editor, BOOM! Studios says:

Origins has everything a sci-fi fan could want – a distant future run by AI run amok but also a beautiful dystopian world where the line separating life from death is tenuous at best. It’s a fight for survival, and it’ll keep you guessing who’ll win until the very end. This is an epic story that we couldn’t wait to get in the hands of sci-fi fans and readers everywhere so we’re very excited to be launching the series in November with a first issue you won’t want to miss.

Origins #1 features main and variant cover art by Rebelka. Fans attending the BOOM! Studios Discover Yours Panel on Sunday, 7/26/20 at 11 AM PT on the Comic-Con@Home site will get a preview of this and other upcoming BOOM! Studios series.
