‘The Walking Dead’ Gets Colored And Relaunched This Fall

The Walking Dead gets colored – the whole dang series – giving Image Comics are good enough excuse to relaunch it again from the debut issue, first released 17 years ago by Image Comics and written by Robert Kirkman and illustrated, originally, by Terry Moore. And, while Moore’s artwork lends itself well to color, I’m not too sure later issues will hold up as well given that Charlie Adlard’s artwork worked to the strengths of black and white art, making masterful use of white space and bold shadows on the page to realise his vision. But then, looking at this preview, colored by Dave McCaig, and I could be persuaded otherwise.
Each issue will also include “The Cutting Room Floor,” a new feature that shares with the readers Kirkman’s original handwritten plots along with commentary on abandoned storylines and plot points that may have changed along the way.
That, and a whole array of variant covers and I imagine there will be plenty out there willing to pick this new look book up when it comes out Wednesday October 7th from Image Comics.
