Crowdfunding Comics: The Return Of Cult UK Comic, Harker, From Time Bomb Comics
by Olly MacNamee
Time Bomb Comics has recently acquired the rights to UK indie comic book, Harker, originally published by Ariel Press in 2007 with a black and white reprint from Titan Comics in 2010. Created by Roger Gibson (Torchwood, Gravestown, Mad Girl) and artist Vincent Danks (Doctor Who Magazine, Red Dwarf Magazine), the two are reunited some ten years later for this new collection, currently being funded via a modest and already successful Kickstarter campaign.
“When the discovery of a disembowelled corpse close to the British Museum points to ritualistic murder, DCI Harker and his assistant DS Critchley are called to London to solve the case. The trail seems to lead to a shadowy group of occultists, but Harker has his own ideas. This is just the beginning of one of Harker’s most disturbing cases – the first volume of a two part story, printed in full colour for the first time.”
Harker: The Book of Solomon – Part One collects the first half of The Book of Solomon in color for the first time, and would appeal to fans of classic television detective series such as Columbo, Morse and CSI. The campaign is already fully funded, with several stretch goals already unlocked, but it still has a good few week to go if it sounds like your kind of read.
