Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, And Taskmaster Star In New Series This November

by James Ferguson

We know that the Black Widow movie will feature Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, and Taskmaster in addition to Natasha Romanoff herself. What better time for Marvel to publish some new comics starring these characters than around the film’s release? November will see the debut of Widowmakers: Red Guardian and Yelena Belova and Taskmaster, two action-packed series that serve as a nice introduction to these characters.

Widowmakers, written by Devin Grayson (one of Yelena Belova’s creators) and illustrated by Michele Bandini, follows Yelena as her past starts to catch up with her and the Red Guardian looking for his new day to dawn. This sounds like a series about two people making their own destinies. The first issue features a cover by Mike McKone.

Then, in Taskmaster, from writer Jed MacKay and artist Alessandro Vitti, the world believes the mercenary has killed Maria Hill. The greatest spies in the Marvel Universe are hunting him down and they won’t stop until Taskmaster is put down. Issue #1 features a cover by Valerio Giangiordano.
Both titles debut in November 2020.
