The Legends of Tomorrow will welcome a new member to the team when it returns in 2021.
As unveiled during the DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse event, Chicago P.D. veteran Lisseth Chavez has been cast as Esperanza “Spooner” Cruz. Described as “tough and self-sufficient,” Spooner is a survivor of an alien abduction who lives off the grid and devises “ingenious tech for the detection of — and defense against — space aliens.” She also believes she can communicate telepathically with aliens — making her the perfect recruit for Waverider as the crew will be hunting down extraterrestrials “who have been displaced throughout history.”
Castmembers Caity Lotz, Nick Zano, Matt Ryan, Tala Ashe, Jes Macallan, Olivia Swann, Amy Louise Pemberton and Shayan Sobhian return for Season 6. Sadly, original cast member Brandon Routh and Season 2 addition Maisie Richardson-Sellers spent their last days on the set during the fifth season — and Dominic Purcell‘s absence from the cast list suggests he may be leaving as well — but change is a constant element on Legends and we hope Chavez will make a great addition to the team.
