HBO Max To Stream ‘Batwheels’ Children’s Animated Series

by Erik Amaya

For some kids, Batman is all about the cars.

And HBO Max and Cartoon Network are in the process of giving children an animated Batman show featuring the character’s signature rides with Batwheels. The “action adventure comedy series” is aimed at preschool-aged children and centers on a group of sentient vehicles — Bam (The Batmobile), Bibi (The Batgirl Cycle), Red (The Redbird), Jett (The Batwing) and Buff (The Bat Truck). Together, they must “navigate the growing pains of being a newly formed super team as well as the growing pains that come with just being a kid.” They will, of course, be aided by the Bat-family and other DC Superheroes, but the focus is squarely on this new team collectively called the Batwheels.

In a statement, Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios President Sam Register said, “We are so excited to bring that expertise over to the preschool space and take something that all kids love, cool vehicles, and give it a turbo boost with Batman!” He will serve as an executive producer on the series, while Michael G. Stern (Doc McStuffins) serves as co-executive producer. Simon J. Smith (Baymax Dreams) will be the supervising producer and Steven Fink is set to produce.

The series will be part of a new preschool initiative for Warner Bros. and will air on Cartoon Network in addition to streaming on HBO Max.
