NYCC 2020: WWE Raw Superstar Panel- Then. Now. Forever.

by Brendan M. Allen

‘Join WWE Superstar Zelina Vega, Hall of Famer Paul “Triple H” Levesque and WWE Champion Drew McIntyre as they talk about their love, passion and experience of some the most kickass moments from across nearly 3 decades of Monday Night RAW! From larger than life Superstars, limitless athleticism and unequaled drama RAW has made USA Network the destination to see good and evil do battle live 52 weeks a year. Moderated by WWE correspondent Charly Caruso.’

This New York Comic Con 2020 panel was pre-recorded on September 28th, 2020, the day after WWE’s Clash of Champions pay-per-view. On screen, we saw and heard from moderator Charly Caruso, WWE’s Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development Triple H, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, and wrestler/manager Zelina Vega

This was actually kind of a hard panel to follow. There were so many great threads that started, but then were cut short due to time and the lack of a focused goal for the presentation. Some of the subjects that came up, briefly, were the Women’s Evolution, Drew McIntyre’s experience with being handed one of the top spots in WWE in his first run with the company and being too young to appreciate the opportunity, the phenomenon of NXT, and the evolution of RAW as a show.

Here are some of the highlights:

04:01- What do you attribute to RAW’s longevity, and why do you think the show has been so successful for so many years?

07:50- Is there a defining moment in your careers on RAW that you want to talk about?

16:40- What goes into making an episode of RAW?

18:23- Talk about the Women’s Evolution.

21:35- Do you have any predictions for the Brand Draft on October 12th and RAW Season Premiere one week later on October 19th?

24:25- Drew, in all of WWE history, which former WWE champion would you want to face?

25:36- Zelina, is there anyone that you have studied as a wrestler or manager to master your craft?
