Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak And Meta Threads Release ‘Neon Future’ Apparel Line
by Gary Catig
Neon Future is the critically acclaimed comic series co-created by world renowned DJ, Steve Aoki. It is a futuristic sci-fi story where a civil war is brewing between humans that are augmented with cybernetics and those who are not. A mysterious figure modelled after Aoki, Kit Sovee, tries to bring peace to the land showing that people can live harmoniously with technology. Now, the comic from Impact Theory is partnering with Aoki’s Dim Mak fashion streetwear brand and the apparel company, Meta Threads.
On October 19th, a crossover collaboration with the three companies will be released combining aspects of music, fashion, eSports and comics. The exclusive fashion line is composed of 14 unique designs spanning graphic t-shirts, sports jerseys, hoodies, windbreakers, and basketball shorts ($45-$120) that are co-designed by the Dim Mak and Meta Threads studios featuring original artwork from Neon Future. The art features characters Kit Sovee, Clay Campbell and Dee as well as covers and panels.
To coincide with the launch, Aoki and Meta Threads are hosting an invitational Call of Duty: Warzone tournament spotlighting streamers from the eSports, music and sports world. The 16-squad tournament will be streamed on the Meta Threads Twitch channel on October 19 at 4:00 pm PST. Spectators have the chance to win prizes through “in-chat” giveaways.
The apparel will be found exclusively from Dim Mak and Meta Threads beginning October 19. Learn more about Neon Future from when we spoke to co-creator, Tom Bilyeu, when the series was first released.
