Titan Comics Offer Up A First Look At ‘Blade Runner 2029’ #1 Out This December

by Olly MacNamee

Having already announced a sequel to their current Blade Runner 2019 comic book series set a decade after, Titan Comics have given us a first look at black and white interior art pages by Andres Guinaldo. Featuring Blade Runner Ash from the original series, it’ll be interesting to see what’s happened in the past ten years. Although, returning writer Mike Johnson does give us a bit of a head’s up:

“Ten years after the events of the first Blade Runner movie and our initial story arc in Blade Runner 2019, Los Angeles has become an idyllic utopia free from crime and despair, full of happy people who – – sorry, what I meant to say is that in Blade Runner 2029 everything is worse. New villains, new victims, new noir. But Ash is still on the case.”

So not too much has changed. Or has it?

Blade Runner 2029 #1 will be out Wednesday 16th December from Titan Comics.

Blade Runner 2029 sees an emotionally changed Ash back with the LAPD’s Blade Runner division. She finds her loyalties and humanity challenged by two Replicants, one offering her salvation, the other deadly damnation.
Prolific comic book creator Mike Johnson, a veteran writer of the Star Trek franchise, whose credits also include Supergirl and Batman/Superman, returns as series writer. Following on from Blade Runner 2019’s hugely successful win in the Scribe Award category for best graphic novel, we asked how Titan’s new series will build upon the success of the first.”
