Oscar Isaac Reportedly Set To Play Marvel’s ‘Moon Knight’

by Erik Amaya

While Oscar Isaac‘s time in the Star Wars galaxy may be over, he is reportedly finding a berth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Deadline reports the actor is in negotiations to star in the Disney+ series Moon Knight. The character, created by Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin, is a millionaire with various alter-egos and personalities. He’s been a boxer, a merc, and, if Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige is to be believed, a moon god. Like the Batman, he uses eccentrically shaped boomerangs and the cover of night to deliver justice. But he’s more than just a Marvel take on Batman.
The television version comes from Umbrella Academy and The Exorcist‘s Jeremy Slater — a name which makes us pretty jazzed for the show as he made that Exorcist program work much better than it had any right to.
If negotiations go well, Isaac is the seemingly final piece of Marvel Studio’s current plans for the Disney streaming service. In the past month, the studio reportedly hired Tatiana Maslany to lead She-Hulk and Iman Vellani to play Ms. Marvel. That fills out the starring cast of nearly all of them proposed series.
Of course, Kate Bishop fans might be wondering what happened to Hawkeye. In fact, we wonder as well. But it seems that series may be taking a backburner to others announced at the 2019 D23 Expo. And, to an extent, we’re fine with that. Yes, we want to see an MCU Kate Bishop, but getting a Moon Knight, a Ms. Marvel, and a She-Hulk is just a little more exciting.
As Deadline notes, no pilot director is attached to Moon Knight as yet, so it may still be sometime before the series comes to Disney+.
