Art For Art’s Sake #84: Christmas Greetings Everyone
by Richard Bruton
Welcome to the Art For Art’s Sake Christmas Special for 2020. It’s been a funny old year, hasn’t it? And by funny, I mean that in the absolutely not funny but incredibly strange, devastating, despairing, and awful sense of the word.
Hopefully, you’re with loved ones in some way this year, in-person if it’s safe, virtual if it’s not. We’d like to wish you all the very best for the season with a little festive artwork.
But before you enjoy that, a reminder that as bad as the year may have been for you, as weird as this Christmas might be, there’s always someone worse off. So, enjoy whatever your Christmas brings but take a moment to think about donating to a food bank, or a pet shelter, or give something to Crisis or Shelter.

And we’ll end with the true spirit of Christmas, or at least the true spirit of Christmas, Addams Family style. Oh yes, Charles Addams’ ‘Family’ has always been a favourite, ever since I found a collection in dad’s study at home. And they’re the perfect antidote to this whole Christmas thing….
