Deconstructing Comics Announces New ‘Fullmetal Alchemist’ Manga Podcast

by James Ferguson

Our friends at Deconstructing Comics have announced a whole new podcast. The Law of Equivalent Exchange takes a look at Hiromu Arakawa’s manga series Fullmetal Alchemist, examining it chapter by chapter.

“The show has been running occasionally in the Deconstructing Comics feed,” explains show co-host Tim Young, “but the show’s own podcast feed has just been launched, and it has its own web page now, at loee.buzzsprout.com.”

FMA is one of the best-crafted long-form comics to come around in a long time,” says co-host Patrick Ijima-Washburn. “It not only has sublime art and layout, but has well-built characters with storylines that suck you in and never let you go. The kicker is the way that the storyline is tied together at the end. Rarely have I experienced such a satisfying finale.”

There are five episodes available so far, exploring the first five chapters of the manga series. You can catch up on what’s been released to date and get ready for more by subscribing on Apple Podcasts or whichever podcast app you use. Episode #6 drops on January 18th, 2021.
