Thought Bubble Festival Returns This November With Chuck Palahniuk, Scott Snyder And More

by Olly MacNamee

MCM Comic Con have already announced dates for the autumn and now Thought Bubble have too. Once more returning to their new home of Harrogate, just up the road from Leeds and in beautifully picturesque part of Yorkshire, the main comic con for the week-long festival will be held over the weekend of November 13th – 14th 2021.

Expect the usual amazing line-up of comic book creators but also get ready for the appearance of Fight Club’s  Chuck Palahniuk too, alongside Scott Snyder, G. G Wilson and Gail Simone. Oh, and a good few more, as you can see from the poster below such as James Tynion IV, Ram V and Babs Tarr. With more names to come too. Although, that’s pretty impressive first wave of guests right there.

But, beware. Here in the UK we are still in the grips of a pandemic and a virus that continues to evolve. So, who know where we will be come November, but here’s hoping. We’ve had enough bad news to last anyone a life-tome, so I’m happy to be bringing you a bit of good news for once, as optimistic as that may be.

Here’s Thought Bubble’s comments on the ongoing health crisis:

“The safety of guests, exhibitors and fans remains Thought Bubble’s highest priority and the festival will not take place if the safety of attendees is in question, or if the restrictions in place impede the running of the friendly and welcoming festival that people know and love.

The festival team are working closely with Harrogate Convention Centre as well as organisations including the Association of Independent Festivals, the Association of Event Organisers and the Association of Event Venues. The aim is to ensure that any event hosted is not only fully compliant and safe, but comfortable, relaxed and enjoyable for everyone.”

For more on the festival (running from the week beginning November 8th 2021) check out their website now and keep up to date with new announcements and more.

Hopefully I’ll see you there! Or if not at the conference centre itself, then probably propping up the bar across the road at the amazing family-run pub, Cold Bath Brewery, who provided Thought Bubble with its very own craft brew beer last time. Mine’s a pint!
