Alison Araya And Lenny Jacobson Join HBO Max’s ‘Peacemaker’

by Erik Amaya

The cast of Peacemaker continues to expand.

Variety reports Alison Araya and Lenny Jacobson have joined the cast of the upcoming James Gunn series in recurring roles. Further details are, of course, shrouded in secrecy as anything having to do with comic book based shows trade on secrets. Peacemaker itself, though, has been pretty open about its cast since the program was announced.

John Cena stars as Peacemaker, the Charlton Comics military hero who will also feature in August’s The Suicide Squad. The series will also feature Danielle Brooks, Chris Conrad, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Robert Patrick and Chukwudi Iwuji; some of whom, like Cena, reprise their roles from the upcoming film. Nhut Le also recently joined the cast as a re-imagined version of Peacemaker’s Charlton compatriot Judomaster. Gunn wrote all episodes of Peacemaker and will direct several installments himself.

Of course, with each casting addition, we hope The Question will finally get his day in live action. The character has evaded translation in the Arrowverse and even though Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez) was decked out in Question colors through much of Birds of Prey, neither she nor Vic Sage have received a proper spotlight. But perhaps Peacemaker will be the place for it.

Peacemaker is expected to debut on HBO Max in January of 2022.
