‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ And ‘Stargirl’ Set Summer Start Dates
by Erik Amaya
Summer 2021 will be the Summer of CW Superheroes.
EW reports DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will debut its sixth season on Sunday, May 2, joining Batwoman for the latter part of its second season run as a quirky duo of superhero shows. As teased in the final moments of Season 5, Legends will focus on aliens as an overall theme with Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) abducted by some extraterrestrials and rogue alien hunter Esperanza “Spooner” Cruz (Lisseth Chavez) joining the team as they search for their missing captain.
Meanwhile, The CW also released a brief teaser for the second season of Stargirl which also announces a summer start. Although, no specific date appears in the promo.
Picking up from Season 1’s tease of former Injustice Society member The Shade (Jonathan Cake), Season 2 sees Courtney (Brec Bassinger) and the other members of the JSA facing off against Eclipso (Nick Tarabay) and whatever plans The Shade may have for Blue Valley. Meanwhile, with Sylvester Pemberton (Joel McHale) apparently alive, expect other cameos from the original JSA — like with Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp), who will appear in a flashback during Episode 9.
Supergirl, which is due to wrap up with its upcoming season, will presumably join Legends and Stargirl in the DC superhero summer, but it has yet to even tease an airdate. Nevertheless, we look forward to its being part of an unusually busy summer.
