Tom Holland Reveals Next ‘Spider-Man’ Movie Title As ‘No Way Home’ … No, Really!

by Erik Amaya

Tom Holland‘s penchant for blurting out Marvel secrets has become a recurring part of the market narrative for his Spider-Man films. But Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures may have taken it to the extreme with their latest stunt to unveil the title of the third MCU Spider-Man film: Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Across Tuesday afternoon, Holland and co-stars Jacob Batalon and Zendaya introduced fake titles for the film. It was pretty successful, if confusing. It all seemed to indicate Holland would reveal the true title during his appearance on a late night chat show yesterday, but when that failed to materialize, eagle-eyed fans and media types waited at his Instagram account for a post with the real title. Holland did not disappoint, as can be seen in the above video.

That said, we hope this is the last time Holland’s alleged loose lips launch a marketing campaign. They leaned into it hard this time and it feels less cute than stories of Holland being told Tony Stark’s funeral was a wedding to prevent the young actor from spoiling Iron Man’s death.

With a bevy of guest stars from Spider-Man movies past and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) helping Peter (Holland) out, the film will pick up with the now homeless Spider-Man trying to clear his name. As you may recall,  Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) and J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons) ruined it at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home by implicating him in the destruction of London’s Tower Bridge and the other elemental monster attacks across Europe. But it also seems the emerging Marvel Multiverse may be causing extra trouble for the Peter as The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s Electro (Jamie Foxx) and Spider-Man 2‘s Doc Ock (Alfred Molina) make a visit. Will it lead to the other movie Spider-Men leading our Peter out of trouble? That remains to be seen.

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters (probably) on December 17th.
