‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ Toplines HBO Max’s March Lineup

by Erik Amaya

As though to answer the drought of genre content over on Netflix next month, HBO Max comes in swinging with some highly anticipated films and the return of a fan favorite superhero series.

Of course, the thing everyone will be talking about next month is Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the four-hour ultimate versions of director Zack Snyder‘s cut of Justice League. As myself, I’ll be honest and mention I’m not exactly Snyder’s biggest fan and I found the harassment some corners of the SynderCut faithful engaged in to be distasteful. Nevertheless, I am happy to see Snyder realize the movie as he saw it and that HBO Max is attempting something like this. I’ll also dutifully watch it when it it comes to the service on March 18th.

I’ll also watch Godzilla vs. Kong when it debuts on March 31st. As a fan of both giant monsters, I look forward to their ultimate rumble. That said, I’m also not exactly excited for it as the recent slate of American Godzilla movies are a little too self-serious. I like my Godzilla with a nice layer of cheese. Hopefully, the film will remember to have a laugh as the two Titans demolish cities.

Meanwhile, HBO Max’s dedication to archival programming means Superman: The Animated Series will arrive on March 17th. The program is in the top tier of Superman shows and deserves to be as praised as its Batman counterpart. Also, if you are in the mood for some odd film scholarship, both John Carpenter‘s Assault on Prininct 13 and its 2005 remake will be available on March 1st. Watch them back-to-back for a real film school experience.

Of course, these are the things we’ll be watching on HBO Max next month. Take a look at the full list below to find your picks. And, as always, take a close look at the things leaving the service as WarnerMedia still cycles out its own content to fulfill contracts with other services.
