Magnetic Press Announces ‘Mongolian Wind: The Art Of Lu Ming’ Artbook

Magnetic Press have long been a publishers that brings to America the best of what the rest of the world has to offer in terms of art and comic books. Usually dipping their toes into European comics, they have announced that they ill be punishing Mongolian Wind: The Art Of Lu Ming this May.

If you’ve yet to discover Chinese illustrator Lu Ming, then let this trailer do the talking and offer you a look at his hyper-realistic paintings covering a wide range of themes including advertising illustrations (for which he won a Palme d’or at the Cannes Lion festival in 2008), storyboard and conceptual design work for feature films (including the legendary Tsui Hark’s Flying Sabers), and his sculptures (including the monumental Desert Grade presented at the Burning Man festival in Nevada):

Mongolian Wind: The Art of Lu Ming is being released in May 2021 in celebration of Asian American Heritage Month.
