Review Round Up: A Look Back At The Comic Book Reviews Of The Past Week

by Olly MacNamee

This past week brought another big batch of reviews for a good spread of different comic books. To help you keep up we’ve once again gathered them all up for your leisurely perusal. Maybe there’s a book in here that’s caught your fancy but you want a second opinion? Or, you may just want to compare your own thoughts on a particular book with our team of reviewers? Whatever the reason you’ve swung round these here parts, we’re mighty honoured. So, why not stick round some and make comicon.com part of your weekend ritual?

Now onto those reviews and after a quite few weeks, Brendan M Allen had his hands full this past week posting reviews for AfterShock’s Knock ‘Em Dead #4 here, Made Cave’s Nottingham #1 here and Dark Horse’s Dead Dog’s Bite #1 here.

Meanwhile Tony Thornley turned his eye to Superman #29 here and the new creative team debuting, as well as sharing his thoughts on Batman #106 here. He also reviewed Marvel’s Star Wars: The High Republic #3 here as well as Daredevil #28 here.

James Ferguson gave us reviews for ONI Press’ Jonna and the Unpossible Monster #1 here Fishing Memories here, that takes a poignant look at Alzheimers, and Scoop: Buries Leads here as well as BRZRKR #1 from BOOM! Studios. A highly anticipated book, but one our James felt didn’t live up to the hype judging by the score he gave this one. Read all about it here.

Scott Redmond worked his way through reviews for DC Comics The Next Batman: Second Son #2 (here) and #3 (here), Marvel’s Power Pack #4 (here) and Taskmaster #4 (here), as well as IDW’s TMNT: Jennika II #5 (here). That’s an awful lot of comics!

As for me? I managed to review of Grant Morrison and Liam Sharp’s The Green Lantern Season Two #12 series’ finale here as well as post an advance review of Home Sick Pilots #4 from Image Comics here. Both highly recommended.

Any there you’re following? Or any you may want to pick up after reading our team’s reviews?
