The Stranger Figures Out A Key Connection On The Next ‘Superman & Lois’

by Erik Amaya

The Stranger (Wolé Parks) makes his way to Smallville on the next Superman & Lois. And as this preview for the episode reveals, he’s made a key connection between Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) and Superman (Tyler Hoechlin). Will it aid him in his campaign against the Man of Steel or will his arrival in town prove more beneficial to his other objective?

Rebuilding his suit and his technology seemed impossible just two episodes ago. But with the discovery Morgan Edge (Adam Rayner) makes at the Shuster mine, it may be possible for the mutliversal Luthor to become strong enough to take on Clark. Granted, we still don’t know what Edge’s objective with the “X-Kryptonite” is beyond an army of supermen. For some, that’s objective enough, but maybe there’s more to Edge than even that.

And that would make him far more interesting than the Stranger at this point. In fact, we like him because he presents an antagonistic force to both Lois and Clark. What makes it more interesting is that Clark can’t see it, but Lois can. Despite the headway both tried to make this week, they’re not exactly partners in the crime-fighting field. All of the competing concerns get in the way, yes, and though they love each other, something is out of step. Perhaps getting back in step will allow them to deal with Edge.

Meanwhile, there’s not much to say for the kids except for Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) backsliding on his support of Jordan (Alex Garfin) joining the team. It’s not the most annoying character development — that goes to the attempted character rehabilitation of Kyle Cushing (Erik Valdez) — and the way it’s portrayed here makes it feel more authentic. But as seen in the above trailer, there’s potential for it to go off the rails real quick.

Superman & Lois airs Tuesdays on The CW.
