‘The Suicide Squad’ Manages To Look Heroic In New Trailer
by Erik Amaya
The Suicide Squad director chose April Fool’s Day to unleash a new theatrical trailer for the upcoming film. In lieu of the violence of the red band trailer from last week, the new preview sees Task Force X in an almost heroic mode. Or are we looking at this foolishly? Take a look and decide for yourself:
Although it’s April Fool’s, the only joke here is on the supervillains who agreed to work for Amanda Waller. Brand new #TheSuicideSquad trailer which dropped last night exclusively in theaters! Meet us in theaters August 6! pic.twitter.com/FwbtANOXEX

The film will see the formation of a new Squad — Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin, and Harley Quinn — as they head to the island nation of Corto Maltese for a mission of some significance with a surprising connection to Starro. Besides returning players Viola Davis, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman, the film will see the debuts of David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, Steve Agee, Flula Borg, Idris Elba, Peter Capaldi, Pete Davidson, Alice Braga, John Cena and more in the DC Films universe.
The Suicide Squad hits theaters and HBO Max on August 6th, 2021.
