Revisit ‘Spider-Man: Life Story’ Through J. Jonah Jameson’s Eyes This August
by James Ferguson
One of 2019’s best comics was Spider-Man: Life Story from writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Mark Bagley. They told the story of Peter Parker’s life in real time, exploring the entire history of the wall-crawler from his debut in 1962 to his tragic romance with Gwen Stacy to the Clone Saga, and more. This August, publisher Marvel Comics revisits this world with Spider-Man: Life Story Annual #1.
“Working on the original Spider-Man: Life Story was a dream come true for me,” Zdarsky said. “But the problem with the miniseries was that I didn’t have the room to properly tell the life story of one of my all-time favorite characters: J. Jonah Jameson! Getting the chance to revisit this universe with Mark again has been an absolute blast!”
We all know how JJJ feels about Spider-Man. The seasoned newspaper man sees the web-head as a threat and a menace. He’s had decades to obsess about Spider-Man, but will that bear fruit? Or destroy him?
Spider-Man: Life Story Annual #1 is set for release on August 4th, 2021. It features a cover by Zdarsky.
