Flash Thompson Returns In July’s ‘Extreme Carnage’

by Tony Thornley

The end of King In Black brought lots of surprises to the Marvel Universe. One of the biggest though is the return of the most heroic character to use the name Venom. And in July, he comes back in style in Extreme Carnage.

Extreme Carnage was announced earlier this week with just a cover, but now we know that Agent Anti-Venom is one of the two main characters of this mini event. Flash Thompson was last seen alive facing the Red Goblin, a battle that cost him his life. However, in this past week’s Venom #34, it appears that he’s back from the grave. After the events of King In Black saw Flash’s surprise return, Agent Anti-Venom makes his full return in Extreme Carnage Alpha #1 from Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Manuel Garcia.

“After King in Black, everything we thought we knew about the symbiotes will have changed. Every man, woman, and child in the Marvel Universe will finally understand the massive threat the symbiotes represent, and the symbiotes that are still among us are now in the crosshairs of some extremely angry, scared, and powerful forces,” Johnson explained. “In the pages of Extreme Carnage, we’ll not only explain what Carnage is in this new, post-King in Black era, but also see a return-to-form for the deadliest symbiotes that have ever lived while putting them on a lethal new path for the future.”

Until July, check out the uncensored cover from superstar Leinil Yu and the main cover from Dave Rapoza. Be sure to watch for more news about Extreme Carnage right here and pick up Extreme Carnage Alpha #1 from Marvel Comics in July.
