Serenity Can’t Keep Out Of Trouble: Previewing ‘Firefly- Brand New ‘Verse’ #2

by Brendan M. Allen

The second chapter in BOOM! Studios’ new Firefly series drops this week. Written by Josh Lee Gordon, illustrated by Fabiana Mascolo, with colors by Lucia DiGiamarino, and letters by Jim Campbell, Firefly: A Brand New ‘Verse takes place two decades after the events of Firefly, with Emma, the daughter of Wash and Zoë, at the helm of the titular craft.

‘It’s been 20 years since the events of Firefly, but Serenity can’t seem to keep out of trouble – which means Zoe and her daughter Emma are in for a world of hurt! With the Blue Sun on their tail, they turn to the only people they can trust – Kaylee and Simon. But what happened to Mal… and what does it mean for the new crew of Serenity?’

Featuring a main cover by Qistina Khalidah and variant covers by Khalidah, Veronica Fish, and David Lafuente with color by German Garcia, Firefly: A Brand New ‘Verse #2 hits the shelves on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. Check out the preview pages below.

Brendan Allen has probably had more jobs than you would reasonably believe. Dog trainer? He’s done it. Flooring contractor? You bet! EMT? Army NBC specialist? Road dog for a Celtic rock band? Yes, yes, and och aye! Now he reads comics and writes about them. It's a rough gig. You can follow Brendan on Twitter @SaintAmish where he tweets about comic books and cystic fibrosis awareness.
