Micheal Keaton Reportedly Back On ‘The Flash’ Feature

by Erik Amaya

The Flash feature film apparently began production today and, according to The Wrap, Micheal Keaton will be among its cast.

Previously, the actor expressed some doubt about his participation as shooting in the UK and COVID-19 concerns gave him pause. But the site reached out to his management, ICM Partners, who confirmed he will return as Batman in the film. Besides Keaton’s Batman, the film will also feature the return of Ben Affleck as the Justice League Batman, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, and Kiersey Clemons as Iris West. Ron Livingston and Maribel Verdú will also feature as the titular hero’s parents. Star Ezra Miller will continue on as the version of Barry Allen he portrayed in both versions of Justice League, but it is still unclear how and why he will come to meet the Batman of Earth-89.

That said, the film is clearly based on Flashpoint, the DC Comics event series which saw Barry changing his personal history and, ultimately, altering the DC Universe for both good and ill. Many assume he will do the same in the movie, clearing the way for changes in the DC Films continuity and the eventual recasting of Batman and Superman.

Although, as this project has been delayed soon long — it was originally slated for a 2018 release — we’ll believe it’s being made the moment we get a trailer.

The Flash feature is currently scheduled for release on November 4th, 2022.
