‘Kung Fu Hustle’ Meets ‘Pineapple Express’ In ‘Stoned Master’ On Kickstarter

Aubrey Sitterson and Chris Moreno, the team behind The Comic Book Story of Professional Wrestling, have teamed up again for Stoned Master, the stoner kung fu action comedy. Currently on Kickstarter, the comic, lettered by Taylor Esposito, follows a burnout martial artist and his friends as they defend Chavez Heights, Los Angeles from corporatization and gentrification.

This is such a great premise that mixes two things that seem to go naturally together: weed and kung fu. I’m definitely curious as to how this will play out, all with a great message too. Just imagine the kind of fight scenes something like this can unleash.

Stoned Master is planned as a five-issue mini-series. This Kickstarter campaign is intended to raise funds for the first issue, but if things go really well, it will fund the rest of the series and give the creative team more money. These are stretch goals I can get behind. I don’t need more stickers or bookmarks. I want the people that make dope comics to make money.

Rewards for the Kickstarter campaign include digital and physical copies of Stoned Master #1, prints, stickers, commissions, original art, and lots of good vibes. The campaign runs through May 20^th, 2021 and at the time of this writing, it’s about a third of the way through it’s funding goal.
