Ablaze’s NSFW ‘The Cimmerian’ Continues With ‘The Man-Eaters Of Zamboula’

by Brendan M. Allen

Ablaze has announced the upcoming release of the newest chapter in its expanding library of Robert E. Howard’s The Cimmerian adaptations with writer/artist GessThe Cimmerian: The Man-Eaters of Zamboula this July.

‘The Cimmerian in the land of a thousand and one nights! A crossroads of beliefs, languages and cultures, the mythical trading city of Zamboula is also the scene of many dark legends. Upon paying the city a visit, Conan is warned of the dangers of Aram Baksh’s home. It is said that most of the foreigners who stay there disappear under obscure circumstances…and it is precisely there that the Cimmerian is spending the night. But by lifting the veil on these mysterious cases of kidnappings, the Cimmerian will discover another secret, even more terrible, linked to the whole city of Zamboula…

A story imbued with orientalism and macabre witchcraft, The Man-Eaters of Zamboula offers writer/artist Gess the opportunity to deliver his vision of Robert E. Howard’s hero in a comic book story of exotic, erotic and dark beauty.’

The Cimmerian: The Man-Eaters of Zamboula is presented in an uncensored format. This version of Conan is unrestrained, violent, and overtly sexual, offering readers the option of reading a Conan story that is closer to Howard’s original NSFW work.

The Cimmerian: The Man-Eaters of Zamboula #1 will feature cover art by Gess, as well as Yanick Paquette, Moritat, Robin Recht, and Fritz Casas, and will be available to purchase on July 14, 2021.
