‘Tales Of Arise’ Gets A New Trailer While Announcing Release Date Of September 10th

by Sage Ashford

When Bandai-Namco promised they would be releasing more information on their latest Tales game, most fans likely guessed it would be E3 before they heard anything. But rather than making fans wait until June, it appears Bandai-Namco is ready to start showing off their game now, revealing not only a new trailer with a release date announcement, but a new environmental trailer and a gameplay trailer as well.

The release date trailer shows off a pair of new party members coming to the game in Rinwell, a young mage, and Law, a hand-to-hand fighter. This brings the character count to four, but it’s also been mentioned that there are other party members that haven’t been seen yet.

The environmental trailer gives fans a glimpse at the first two areas of the game, Calaglia and Cyslodia.  One of the weaknesses of prior Tales games has been the backgrounds, which often have a flat and same-y look to them. This is something Bandai-Namco seems to be intent on correcting with Tales of Arise.

Lastly, they’ve also given fans a glimpse at the actual gameplay of the world, showing off what the moment to moment combat looks like.  Interestingly, it looks as if the over world will only show the main character Alphen, and the rest of the party appears during combat. Combat remains arena based, but there doesn’t appear to be victory screens anymore, instead transitioning right back into the over world.

Tales of Arise will launch on September 10th on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as PC and Google Stadia.
