Marvel Reveals Luciano Vecchio Variant Cover For ‘Marvel’s Voices: Pride’ #1

by Brendan M. Allen

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Pride Month is celebrated each year in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. June 2020 marked the 50th anniversary of annual LGBTQ+ Pride traditions, which began in 1970 with a NYC parade on the anniversary of the Uprising.

This June, Marvel Comics will honor Pride Month with a celebration of LGBTQ+ characters and creators in Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1. Marvel’s first-ever queer-centered special will get a special Frame Variant cover by artist Luciano Vecchio. An homage to the Marvel 25th Anniversary covers released in 1985, this cover spotlights Marvel’s tapestry of LGBTQ+ characters and will reveal a brand-new hero who is set to make their debut within the upcoming one-shot.

Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1 is available for pre-order, and will hit spinner racks on June 23, 2021, featuring writers Kieron Gillen, Allan Heinberg, Anthony Oliveira, Steve Orlando, Tini Howard, Leah Williams, Mariko Tamaki, Terry Blas, Crystal Frasier, Vita Ayala, J.J. Kirby, Luciano Veccio, and artists Javier Garron, Jim Cheung, Kris Anka, Jen Hickman, Paulina Ganucheau, Jethro Morales, Britney Williams, J.J. Kirby, and Jan Bazaldua.
