‘Loki’ Declares Wednesdays Are The New Fridays; Series To Debut June 9

by Erik Amaya

Loki is at it again.

Sensing Disney+’s reliance on Friday premieres may be a bit too standard for him, the God of Mischief (Tom Hiddleston) announced in a video Wednesday that his program will debut on June 9th, two days earlier than originally planed. Additionally, he (via Hiddleston) has decided that Wednesdays are the new Fridays with each episode of Loki debuting every Wednesday through its conclusion.

It is unclear, of course, if subsequent shows like What If..? and Hawkeye will also debut on Wednesdays. Loki may want to keep the midweek premieres to himself.

The program follows the divergent Loki seen absconding with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame as he is press-ganged by the Time Variance Authority to apprehend himself(?) It’s probably more complicated, but it’s a good log line. The program also features Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and — for at least one episode — Richard E. Grant.
