The ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Try To Find The Voice In A Preview Of Next Week’s Show

by Erik Amaya

The hunt for aliens across time leads Legends of Tomorrow to Behrad (Shayan Sobhian) and Zari’s (Tala Ashe) home era, where Zari’s ex, DJ S’More Money, hosts a singing competition called Da Throne. And while some of the Legends suspect an alien hidden in a song, a robot crashes the show to declare war on the Earth. At least, that’s the impression we get from the following trailer.

According to The CW’s episode description, though, Zari will be forced to enter the competition while Ava (Jes Macallan) and Spooner (Lisseth Chavez) sit Mick (Dominic Purcell) down for a talk about his attitude.

Although, we have to admit, Mick’s been pretty spot on in his assessments of late. Since Purcell announced his departure a few weeks ago, we approached the new season with the sense that Mick would be making his exit. So far, we’ve seen him gain some sudden maturity and a certain impatience with the Legend’s usual bumbling into a plan. It’s an interesting change in its own right, but we definitely think it will fuel his decision to leave the Waverider for good.

The rest of this week’s episode was also quite fun with Ava affecting a housewife accent and Spooner getting some much needed character development. Also, the show made good on some of the sibling conflict made available with both Behrad and Zari on the ship fulltime. That said, we really appreciate Zari 1.0 cutting through some of it to give them both Air Totems. That’s the sort of stuff we love to see on this show alongside the goofiness of a Mothra-esque alien making the distinctive Godzilla roar.

Legends of Tomorrow airs Sundays on The CW.
