‘Sweet Tooth’ Executive Producer Jim Mickle To Direct ‘God Country’ Feature Adaptation

Sweet Tooth executive producer Jim Mickle clearly loves comics.
Deadline reports the producer, who also directed the first episode of Sweet Tooth, will helm a feature film adaptation of the Image Comics title God Country. Based on the comic by Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw, the story follows a widower whose bouts of dementia cause plenty of problems for his children and the local police. But when his home is destroyed in a tornado, he emerges from the wreckage restored in mind and body. He also has a mission from the eye of the storm: face down the creatures now drawn to the West Texas town.
Cates adapted the book into a screenplay with AfterShock Media’s Lee Kramer and Jon Kramer from producing alongside Mickle and Linda Moran. Legendary Entertainment is also producing.
As with all new announcements, it is unclear when the film will begin production or see release, but hopefully this project will fast-track its way to viewers soon.
