Skeletor Introduces Menace In First ‘Masters Of The Universe: Revelation’ Teaser

Although Masters of the Universe: Revelation is meant to carry on from Filmation’s 1980s He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series, things are decidedly different in the following first look at the upcoming Netflix animated series. For one thing: Skeletor (Mark Hamill) is a lot more menacing than he used to be. The skies around Castle Greyskull are also much darker. Everything seems more tense and did we see Orko displaying some basic competence with his magic?

Although it is meant to continue from the original MOTU series, executive producer Kevin Smith explained during his Geeked Week appearance on Thursday that the series will advance the story in terms of themes, style, and plot. That means Skeletor can no longer bungle his way around Eternia and a certain member of He-Man’s team will learn his secret identity. That person may also discover a revelation about themself — a change to the old status quo that makes us more excited for MOTU: Revelation than almost anything we’ve heard or seen to date.

Okay, seeing Orko doing something cool also has a jazzed.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation comes to Netflix on July 23rd.
