E3 2021: The Movie Games Showcase

by Gary Catig

There was a ton of reveals and announcements during the Future Games Show during E3 2021. Previously, we covered the news about the upcoming XSEED Games releases. Polish game developer and publisher, Movie Games, also shared their new titles. The line-up consisted of Lust from Beyond: M Edition, Fire Commander and Winter Survival Simulator.

Lust from Beyond: M Edition is a new version of the cult survival horror Lust from Beyond. Rather than focusing on the explicit content, this version centers around the mystery, narrative and atmosphere of the Lovecraftian horror. It will be made available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One as well as next generation consoles through the compatibility mode.

The latest trailer for Fire Commander showed the first gameplay of the real-time tactical game. Players lead a team of firefighters on various missions including house fires, car crashes and toxic spills. In between missions, you can level up and train your team to specialize each member. Like Lust from Beyond, it will be made available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One as well as next generation consoles through the compatibility mode.

Winter Survival Simulator’s sanity mechanic was featured in its trailer. The mechanic adds a different dimension and challenge by having the player’s cold and exhaustion potentially causing them to hallucinate horrific visions. The game is a first-person survival game where a casual hike in Mount Washington State Park takes a dark turn and you find yourself in the wilderness with limited supplies facing the elements.

In addition to all the revealed titles, Movie Games announced a new partnership with Platige Image to form Image Games. The first project from the new collaboration is a yet to be titled crime-themed action RPG set in the past.
