Ubisoft revealed a first look at their upcoming Avatar game at the end of their Ubisoft Forward digital show during E3 weekend. The game puts players in the role of a Na’vi that travels across a new part of Pandora, meeting new creatures and characters alike while battling against the RDA. The game is a first-person, open world adventure title scheduled for release in 2022.
Not much else is known about the title, save that it’s confirmed to be a next-gen only project, with the game coming to next-gen consoles in addition to PC, Stadia, and the Amazon Luna streaming service.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is being developed by Massive Entertainment, the studio best known for their work on The Division, using the company’s patented Snowdrop Engine. Massive Entertainment will also be working on the upcoming open-world, story-based Star Wars title, something previously confirmed by Disney and Ubisoft earlier this year.
