ICYMI: New ‘The Suicide Squad’ Trailer Focuses On Bloodsport And Offers More Starro

Using an unconventional release pattern within YouTube ads, Warner Bros. released a new trailer for August’s The Suicide Squad. Thankfully, sites like Collider tracked down the video on one of Warner’s YouTube account so it can be seen without the scavenger hunt. In it, Bloodsport (Idris Elba), a villain who managed to put Superman in the ICU, is press-ganged by Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) to assist the Suicide Squad in removing all traces of “Project Starfish.” We already know Starro is the starfish in question, but who is behind its presence on Earth? The squad may not care about that as staying alive is probably more important to them.

Besides Elba and Davis, the film also features Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, Steve Agee, Flula Borg, Idris Elba, Peter Capaldi, Pete Davidson, Alice Braga, John Cena, and more. Directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad arrives in theaters and HBO Max on August 6th.
