Kickstarting Comics: ‘Meanwhile’ #10 Finishing 8th July

by Richard Bruton

Looking for something to pledge your comics-buying money on? Look no further than Meanwhile #10, the latest in Soaring Penguin‘s quality anthology.

Meanwhile first appeared on my comics radar with issue 1, all the way back in 2014. Publisher John Anderson had already published the first Meanwhile anthology back in 1998, but this was something else, something way bigger and better – featuring the triumphant return of Gary Spencer Millidge‘s Strangehaven (which, if you don’t already know, is a series that’s well worth checking out), as well as The Bad, Bad Place by David Hine and Mark Stafford, and so much more.

We’re now up to Meanwhile volume 10 now, Kickstarting right now, down to its last few days. And it’s grown a lot since that first issue, with 128 pages of quite incredible comics that you really need to be getting behind.

In Meanwhile volume 10, you’re going to find more Strangehaven by Gary Spencer Millidge, The Bad Bad Place by David Hine and Mark Stafford, Taniwha by Roger Langridge, The Collector by Sarah Gordon, Gale Key’s Psychic Lost Items Helpline by Ginny Skinner, as well as comics by Michael Doig & India Swift, Oisin Roche (with Elaine M Will), Laurel Dundee, Chad Boudreau & Butch Mapa, Burhan Kum, Victor Martins, Andy Pearson (with Louise Fellows), Moray Rhoda & Daniel Hugo, Flo Pizzarello and Elisabeth Eudes-Pascal.

It is rather packed with talent and packed with your next favourite comics.

They might say it’s the best anthology you’ve never heard of, but I reckon we can change that – I know you’re going to absolutely love Meanwhile – I know I do!

You can pledge for the Kickstarter here, and get hold of the other issues at the Soaring Penguin Press store.

So, here’s just a little tempter for you…
