Director Matthew Vaughn And Cast Discuss ‘The King’s Man’ In Special Look Featurette
by Erik Amaya
Remember The King’s Man?
The Kingsman prequel is one of the films long-delayed thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s “enjoyed” almost as many delays as Black Widow — although this one is slightly more peculiar as it was made before Disney assumed control of 20th Century Fox and its various film and television assets. Nonetheless, the film represents one of the few homegrown film properties Disney could continue to exploit without the involvement of Marvel Studios. Provided, of course, anyone remembers Kingsman at all.
But Disney’s 20th Century Studios — the rebranded Fox now that that “Fox” part of the studio’s former name belongs to, well, Fox — is trying to get people’s memories to engage with the following special look at The King’s Man. In it, director Matthew Vaughn and cast members Gemma Arterton, Djimon Hounsou, and Ralph Fiennes discuss the prequel and its World War I setting. We’re always been intrigued with the idea and the glimpses of a fight between the initial Kingsmen and Rasputin (Rhys Ifans). But then, movies just need more Rasputin anyway.
The King’s Man finally comes to theaters on December 22nd (hopefully).
