Although Batwoman just wrapped up its second season, work begins on its third year.
Deadline reports Head of the Class veteran Robin Givens will join the series as Jada Jet, the CEO of Jet Industries. She is described as “passionate and hard working, a woman who has worked her way through life’s ups and downs to climb her way to the top — all while being extremely protective over her impetuous son.” Though she will “do whatever it takes to protect her family,” one of the “downs” in her early life was giving up her first-born. Is she Ryan’s (Javicia Leslie) biological mother?
As Deadline points out, Ryan discovered her birth mother is still alive in the Season 2 finale, setting the stage for another journey while her team, presumably, grows. And while it will be interesting to see Ryan interact with Jada Jet, we hope she turns out to be a red herring in Ryan’s search for her mother. Maybe a deeper DC Comics tie is what is required here. Although, it is always possible the character is related to the New Guardian called “Jet.”
Deadline also mentions Dougray Scott has left the series — a decision we think is best for all involved. He’s not a bad actor, but he spent so much time on the series drowning.
Batwoman returns for its third season in October.
