Leslie Grace Reportedly Set To Star In HBO Max ‘Batgirl’ Film

If Deadline is correct, In The HeightsLeslie Grace will star as Barbara Gordon in HBO Max’s Batgirl film.

The actor was part of list of potential stars, including Isabella Merced, Zoey Deutch, and Haley Lu Richardson, either trying out for the part or someone the studio looked at with interest. The film itself is part of a concerted effort to bring DC Entertainment content to the WarnerMedia streaming service and will center on Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Commissioner James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright). Her reasons for assuming a costume experience will, we expect, become clear in the film. Birds of Prey writer Christina Hodson is in charge of the script while Ms. Marvel directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will helm the production.

The film is also part of a bevy of DC Entertainment projects for the streamer which includes a Green Lantern TV series, a Blue Beetle feature, and a number of Justice League Dark projects.

It is unclear how quickly the film will ramp into production, but one imagines HBO Max will want it to dovetail from next year’s The Batman.
