Soaring Penguin Press Announces Mark Stafford’s ‘Salmonella Smorgasbord’ For February 2022

by Brendan M. Allen

Soaring Penguin Press has announced Salmonella Smorgasbord, a new 200+ page collection of Mark Stafford‘s grotesque short comics strips, restored older comics, and recent design work for theatre posters, record covers, beer labels, and T-shirt designs.

Stafford’s connection to Soaring Penguin Press goes all the way back to SPP’s very first publication back in 1997. Best known as the co-creator of the graphic novels Cherubs!, The Man Who Laughs, Lip Hook, and The Bad Bad Place, Mark is the current artist-in-residence at The Cartoon Museum in London, UK.

Soaring Penguin Press Co-Publisher John Anderson says

Mark’s work deserves to be seen, and has to be seen to be believed. Believe me when I say that once you start on Salmonella Smorgasbord it’s, well, unkeepdownable.

Salmonella Smorgasbord is scheduled for February 2022 and is aimed at anyone with an appreciation of horror, comedy, and underground comics.
