It’s A Wicked Board Game Night On Next Week’s ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’

by Erik Amaya

Next week, the Legends of Tomorrow sit down to play one of Gary’s (Adam Tsekhman) favorite board games. And if you’ve played a modern game like Twilight Imperium, you know that can be quite the commitment. But for an added challenge, the Legends will find themselves inside the game — and the longer it goes on, the deadlier it becomes.

This week’s episode was a nice departure from the main alien-hunting storyline. And as we love Zari 1.0 (Tala Ashe) and Nate (Nick Zano), the B-Plot was slightly more compelling to us than the bowling alley. We were happy to see them reaffirm their commitment to one another no matter how long she has to remain in Zari 2.0’s air totem. That said, it definitely sets up a a way for the characters to eventually depart the show. Hopefully, though, that won’t be for quite a while.

Back in the main plot, the visual tour de force of the bowling alley was a nice chance for Spooner (Lisseth Chavez) to shine. She had great chemistry with Rory (Dominic Purcell) and it seems her caustic friendship with Astra (Olivia Swann) will be the focus in one of the four remaining episodes of the season. Overall, she’s a welcome addition. Sure, her gimmick may be a little bit weak, but her personality is a good mix with the others. Also, the hints of her almost survivalist backstory means she can have just about skill the plot demands. That will come in handy next season when, well, look at our look at the show’s Comic-Con@Home panel for more Season 7 details.

Legends of Tomorrow airs Sundays on The CW.
