It’s The End (In More Ways Than One) In Trailer For The Final Season Of ‘Lucifer’
by Erik Amaya
It’s time for Lucifer (Tom Ellis) to assume the Throne of Heaven. But it seems he’s hesitating … a completely obvious Lucifer thing to do. And as this trailer for the sixth and final season of Lucifer reveals, prepping to deal with his new God Complex means dealing with matters on Earth and having a lot of fun along the way. Oh, and staving off the Apocalypse. Will the original hedonist be able to do it all and still, somehow, run all of creation?
According to Netlfix, “this is it, the final season of Lucifer. For real this time.” The assurance is important as the end of the series has come a number of times and, yet, it’s endured. But this time, it is definitely for real. “Join us as we say a bittersweet goodbye to Lucifer, Chloe, Amenadiel, Maze, Linda, Ella and Dan,” they added in their message accompanying the trailer. “Bring tissues.”
As we’ve never completely been on this show’s side — the initial “now he fights crime” premise rankled us as we were devotees of the comic written by Mike Carey — we don’t know if tissues are in our future, but we have to congratulate the show on an additional three seasons after Fox pulled the plug. That’s an incredible accomplishment and, as has been true of every preview Netflix has released since ordering more season, the show looks like fun.
Lucifer‘s final season hits Netflix on September 10th.
