Jade Starts Her Training In A Look At Next Week’s ‘Stargirl’

Stargirl‘s hopes to find a new villain are complicated as Jade (Ysa Penarejo) enters the scene. Per the following preview of next week’s episode, it’s clear the Power Battery responds to the new visitor. She also takes to Pat’s (Luke Wilson) tutelage far better than Courtney (Brec Bassinger) ever has. Will jealousy take the place of Stargirl’s verve for superheroing?

As for this week, it’s great to have the series back. Blue Valley is so far from our own reality that it’s sort of surprising to think it is created by people in our world and that the second season was made entirely during the pandemic. That said, there is a darkness on the edge of Courtney’s world as Eclipso makes his way to town and even her own zeal speaks to an anxiety she’s yet to process.

Oh, and speaking of not being able to process things, Yolanda (Yvette Monreal) needs an outlet. Even confession doesn’t seem to offer her a way to deal with her traumas and the guilt of killing someone.

Also, we hope Beth’s (Anjelika Washington) parents figure out how awesome she really is. Their nervousness around her was always unsettling, but considering her discovery toward the end of the episode, it’s clear her folks will be way to into their own business to notice her at all. It’s almost as sad as her inability (so far) to get Chuck running again.
