Kadokawa Games has released a fourteen minute trailer for their upcoming RPG, Relayer, while confirming the game’s release date has been pushed back to February 17th, 2022. The game takes place in the Milky Way galaxy, with a humanity locked in battle with an alien race known as Relayers. Mankind relies on the power of the Starchildren, humans who have inherited the will of the stars, to combat their foes.
The game is described as a “simulation RPG,” in which every unit has their own role within battle — Assault, Sniper, Tank, and Scout. Each unit will have their own strengths and weaknesses, and every unit can be piloted by different characters who have access to 80+ job types, each one offering it’s own advantages.
The game is meant to have over 80 stages and a side story called “The Asterism’s Voyage,” which gradually unlocks alongside the main story. These stories will explain the character’s background and talk about the “birth of the Moon”. The main trailer goes into details about the combat, including customization of the different mecha’s abilities, and how combat will play out within real time.
Relayer is scheduled to release for PlayStation consoles and PC in February of 2022.
