The Bullet Blondes Start A Speakeasy In A Preview Of Next Week’s ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’
by Erik Amaya
The team still hasn’t reached their goal. But it seems getting to the next step will require turning John’s interdimensional house into a speakeasy for one night. And, for once, a preview of Legends of Tomorrow fails to offer any sense of wackiness. Maybe the circumstances are really serious this time.
Then again, the circumstances were pretty serious this week, and yet Legends delivered a fun and nostalgic 100th episode with return appearances by Franz Drameh, Victor Garber, Arthur Darvil, Brandon Routh, Courtney Ford, Falk Hentschel, and Arthur Darvill. There was plenty of jokiness throughout, but the stakes for Gideon (Amy Pemberton) were absolutely real. Kudos to Pemberton for finally getting to show some of her strengths as an actor on screen. We’re glad she’s going to be more than a disembodied voice for the next little while.
That said, we’re not so enthused to see Bishop (Raffi Barsoumian) programing a Dark Gideon. He is the least interesting of the Legends villains and unnecessary as the team has an interesting, antagonist-free dilemma at the moment. But since we know a rival team will appear at some point, this must be part of their secret origin.
Legends of Tomorrow airs Wednesdays on The CW.
